Conventional SAR resolution equations cannot be applied to ultrawideband ultrawidebeam systems, particularly, bistatic systems. This is because the dependence of system frequency response in range and across not considered. In this case, area resolution, i.e., cell, will an alternative. article introduces a new formula for systems based on relationship between radar signal frequency, range, cross-range wavenumbers synthetic aperture radar.
